Cricket will return to the next Asian Games at Hangzhou 2022 after the Olympic Council of Asia added it to its sports programme for the next edition of the continental event.Cricket has struggled to grow beyond its traditional bases and was last played at the Olympics in the 1900 Paris Games.The International Cricket Council (ICC) has been pushing for the game's Olympic return with the shortest 20-over format and hopes it will find a place at the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.

एशियाई खेल 2022 में T20 क्रिकेट को शामिल कर लिया गया है। भारतीय ओलिंपिक संघ (IOA) के महासचिव राजीव मेहता ने सोमवार को इस बात की जानकारी दी। अब साफ है कि 2022 में हांगझू में आयोजित होने वाले एशियन गेम्स में एशिया महाद्वीप की क्रिकेट टीमें टी20 क्रिकेट में हिस्सा लेंगी। इससे पहले क्रिकेट को 2010 और 2014 एशियाई खेलों में जगह मिली थी लेकिन इंडोनेशिया में 2018 में हुए खेलों में क्रिकेट को जगह नहीं दी गई।
