The official theory around the mysterious disappearance of Netaji is that he was on-board a Japanese air force bomber in Taipei. On take-off the plane caught fire and crashed 100 meters away from the runway. Netaji suffered severe burns and a head injury. Despite being treated in a military hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. After his cremation, Netaji's remains are still kept in Renkoji temple in Japan.
