At a time when the world is discussing the discourse case on minorities’ rights, we are exclusively joined by author Farahnaz Ispahani who has written a scholarly book titled, “Purifying the Land of the Pure” on the minorities in Pakistan. Farahnaz Ispahani has been an activist, a politician, member of the National Assembly and also Advisor to the former Pakistan President Zardari.

Farahnaz’s book talks about the minorities in Pakistan – a rare book in many ways. In her book, she has detailed about how minorities are being persecuted and why she sees less minorities than ever before in Pakistan.

Farahnaz Ispahani said that at the time of partition the area that is now Pakistan had 23 percent non-Muslims but today that figure is at between 3 and 5 percent. This is what she termed as a slow genocide.
