Odd-Even Scheme: Day One of 'War on Pollution' in Delhi

Delhi’s 25 million residents woke up in the New Year on Friday crunching numbers as the Capital embarked on a radical experiment for the next two weeks when residents will be allowed to drive their cars only on alternate days.

Even as the odd-even formula came into force, several even-numbered cars were seen on the capital’s roads despite it being an ‘odd’ day. A few unlucky even numbered cars were also challaned in the morning. In fact the first violator has been challaned at ITO.
