Bollywood divided on award wapsi and 'intolerance'

The counter Award Wapsi Campaign has begun. It's Award Wapsi vs Anti-Wapsi League, a day after 24 filmmakers returned their national awards, 36 thinkers have come out & supported the government over the tolerance debate. The intellectuals include Indian council for Cultural Relations President Lokesh Chandra and noted writer SL Bhyrappa. They all have signed a petition backing the government, saying that the award wapsi campaign is a personal campaign against PM Modi by the opposition. They say that opposition's failure in polls is sought to be avenged by other means. They also say that why the intellectuals, on the other side didn't return their awards after 1984 riots. The BJP has welcomed the support, but, the Congress party is unimpressed, with Former PM Manmohan Singh launching a scathing attack on the government.
