Santa Banta’ jokes are now under the lens of the Supreme Court. The apex court has agreed to hear a PIL seeking direction to ban websites displaying cracks on Sardars and projecting them in poor light. The PIL states that the websites which post jokes on Sikhs are in violation of sections 153A and 153B of the Indian Penal Code. The court has scheduled the hearing for the case next month.
