A young Dalit writer has been attacked by a group of men for his writings against the caste system perceived to be “anti-Hindu”, at Davanagere in Central Karnataka. According to the complaint filed by 23-year-old Huchangi Prasad who had published a ‘controversial’ book a year ago, an unidentified man came to his hostel and took him away saying his mother was unwell. After taking him to a secluded area, he threatened to chop off his fingers and even applied kumkum on his face.
