Surprised by SC verdict on NJAC, Law Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda

Law Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Friday said the NJAC Act represented the will of the people as 100 percent of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members supported it. His statement came after the Supreme Court on Friday struck down the National Judicial Appointments Commission Act as unconstitutional and void and restored the collegium system for appointment of judges to the higher judiciary. "The will of the people can be represented through the parliament. We got the will of the people as 100 percent of the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha members supported it," Gowda told reporters.
