Dadri lynching case: Meat found in Akhlaq's fridge was mutton, not beef

On the night of 28 September, 52-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq and his 22-year-old son Danish were dragged out of their home in Bisada village in Uttar Pradesh's Dadri district, and brutally attacked by a mob of 200 on the suspicion that the family had consumed beef. Akhlaq did not survive the attack and his son has only just been shifted out of the ICU department of a local hospital.Since the attack, the family of Akhlaq has maintained that there was no beef in the house.
