Dadri Lynching: Center shirks responsibility; Rajnath Singh says law and order state issue

The Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday put the onus of responsibility to maintain law and order in a state on the state government, saying that there are limitations to the central government and it cannot interfere after a certain point. Singh also stressed that the Bharatiya Janata Party does not indulge in communal politics. Taking after President Pranab Mukherjee’s appeal for communal harmony, Singh said that in a democracy every political party should see to it that peace is maintained. Speaking about the Dadri lynching and murder incident and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mysterious silence on the issue, Singh said the he has been charged by the PMO to look into the matter.
