Karnataka cites no consensus, kills anti-superstition bill

Even as protests over the killing of rationalist and Kannada scholar MM Kalburgi heat up, the government has let the Karnataka Prevention of Superstitious Practices Bill die a slow death. Law minister TB Jayachandra told sources, "I wanted to bring a law against superstition. But MLAs cutting across party lines advised me not to pursue it.
