Bihar Polls: BJP and Co. adopt Maurya Dynasts, says Ashoka the great was OBC

Caste politics is being resurrected with history ahead of the Bihar polls. Ancient Emperor Ashoka, is now being repackaged as a Kushwaha leader! BJP ally, RKP has held several commemoration functions in Bihar since last year, arguing that both Chandragupta Maurya & Ashoka were the predecessors of present day Kushwahas, Which incidentally acount for 9% of the voters. Even state BJP leaders, like Sushil Kumar Modi have publicly said that if voted to power, they would restore the former glory of the Kushwahas.
