Nation at 9: Is the Bihar election much more than just a state election?

The bugle for the battle for Bihar has been blown. The state goes to polls from the 12th of October - in five phases with the results coming out on the 8th November. The significance of the eventual mandate goes well beyond Bihar as much is riding on it for everyone including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar's Ex-CMs Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar as well as Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
