Govt grants one-year visa to Taslima Nasreen

The government has granted one-year visa to self-exiled Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen after going through her previous stay record in India. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) decided to extend the writer’s visa for another year after giving her a two-month temporary visa till a fact-check was done on her stay here. Although she had applied for a five-year visa, the government decided to grant only a year’s extension.
