Sports Mminister Sonowal has submitted a written reply in the Parliament refusing to act against a BCCI Affiliate the Delhi Cricket Association for serving alcohol on Gandhi Jayanti in 2013. DDCA had earlier been served a showcause notice for breaking the law by serving alcohol on Gandhi Jayanti. However instead of acting against the BCCI, the sports Minister has once again passed the buck, saying that the BCCI is not under government control & that sports is a state issue so the state government should act against the DDCA. Is this simply a case of the government passing the buck when it comes to the bcci? We had spoken to DDCA official Sameer Bhardwaj in June when NewsX first broke the story.
