Consensual sex at 16 to no longer be a crime?

In a move that's being hailed by activists, a government appointed panel has recommended the age of consent to be lowered from 18 to 16. the recommendation has been forwarded to the Women and Child Development Ministry and of course, Maneka Gandhi will take the final call.
