Journalist thrashed under orders of Agriculture Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura

Attacks on journalists continue unabated in the country with the latest case being reported from Srinagar, where a senior journalist was thrashed by guards following a minister's instructions after he objected to their passing lewd comments at his wife. Senior journalist Javed Malik who works for Greater Kashmir newspaper accused Agriculture Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura of signalling his guards to assault him when he tried to approach and complain about his guards. Malik said he was travelling in his car with his wife in Bagh-e-Mehtab area of uptown Srinagar when the guards beat him up and hurled abuses for protesting.
