Indian Coast Guard Dornier Aircraft Missing: 2 distress signals or 'pings' detected from Lifejackets

Two days after an Indian Coast Guard Dornier surveillance aircraft went missing off the coast of Tamil Nadu, there are the first signs of survival of the crew. There were 3 crew members on board. 2 distress signals or 'pings' have been detected from the personal locating beacon installed on lifejackets. Ten ships of the Indian Navy and Coast Guard have been deployed for the search and rescue operations, apart from surveillance aircraft like the P8I and Dorniers. The entire coastal security mechanism for Tamil Nadu, including fishing vessels. have been involved in the effort to locate the missing crew and the aircraft. An oil slick has also been detected, possibly resulting from the aircraft crashing into the water.
