Despite stiff opposition from the main Opposition Congress, the BJP government in Haryana will go ahead with its plan to appoint yoga guru Baba Ramdev as its brand ambassador to promote the discipline in state-run schools.

Health, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij on Monday said the government will give a Cabinet minister’s status to Ramdev “for promotion of yoga and ayurveda” in Haryana.
