AIADMK denies reports of calling early polls in Tamil Nadu

The AIADMK has officially denied reports of calling early polls in Tamil Nadu. However, speculation still persists over whether Jaya will take advantage of a weak opposition and a sympathy wave to seal another 5 years in power. The 2016 assembly polls in Tamil Nadu could be advanced to the year-end if the advice of AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa's aide, M Thambidurai, to party-men on Friday to gear up for early polls is any indication. The AIADMK is still being seen as likely to call for early polls, either to capitalize on the high cadre morale or pre-empt the opposition from marshaling its strength post the wealth case verdict.
