Faced with mounting political pressure, chief minister O Panneerselvam on Saturday sacked agriculture minister Agri S S Krishnamoorthy from the cabinet. The move comes in the wake of demands by some political parties that action be taken against the minister following the suicide of an agriculture department engineer, who was apparently under pressure from the minister's office with regard to appointments in the department. The AIADMK chief had on Thursday removed Krishnamoorthy from the post of Tiruvannamalai south district secretary of the party.
