Mamata Banerjee on Saturday trimmed Mukul Roy's wings by engaging her close aide Subrata Bakshi as the all-India general secretary of Trinamool Congress. Roy had been functioning as the national general secretary independently, but from Saturday, Bakshi will also hold the post of the party's national secretary along with Roy. Even though Roy has not yet been removed from the key party position, Bakshi's appointment as the national general secretary has made it clear that Mamata is absolutely upset with Roy and attempting to run her party without him.
