Speak out India: Open-book exam likely for CBSE students - NewsX

Speak out India is a NewsX special show which focuses on the main news event of the day. The Central Board of Secondary Education is planning to start open-book board exams for Classes X and XII from 2013. The system has been successful in US, UK and Canada. It is based on an analytical question pattern that assesses students' understanding of a subject than their memory. So this maybe is welcome, but does this mean that the conventional method has no advantages? We ask today- Is Open Book examination system too revolutionary an idea?
