Finance Minister announced a decline of Rs 1.50 in excise duty levied on petrol and diesel, and will notify the OMCs to deduct their prices by Re 1 to ease the burden on customers.

तेल की बढ़ती कीमतों से राहत देने के लिए केंद्र सरकार ने पेट्रोल और डीजल की कीमत में 2.50 रुपये कटौती की घोषणा की है। जेटली ने कहा, 'आज अंतरमंत्रालयी बैठक में हमने तय किया कि एक्साइज ड्यूटी 1.50 रुपये घटाया जाएगा। इसके अलावा ऑइल मार्केटिंग कंपनियां (ओएमसी) एक रुपया घटाएंगी। केंद्र सरकार की तरफ से हम 2.50 रुपये प्रति लीटर तुरंत उपभोक्ताओं को राहत देंगे।' वित्त मंत्री ने राज्यों से भी इतनी ही कटौती करने की गुजारिश की है ताकि ग्राहकों को 5 रुपये की राहत मिले।
