Shocking news reports reveal that late Shehnai maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan's Shehnai has been stolen from his Varanasi home.
Adorned with the honorific title 'Ustad', the musician had brought 'Shehnai' to a global stage and had increased its popularity internationally. He was also the man behind bringing the Shehnai to the concert stage.
He was honoured with the Bharat Ratna in 2001.
