Jadavpur University girl alleges sexual assault in boys’ hostel

A Jadavpur University student has alleged that she was dragged into the boys' hostel by at least 10 men, including some outsiders, and sexually assaulted after a campus fest on August 28. She says she was beaten up, molested and robbed of her mobile — all within the walls of the hallowed campus.
The traumatized student informed university authorities on Monday and filed an FIR on Tuesday. Coming close on the heels of back-to-back allegations of sexual assault at Visva-Bharati, the JU incident brings yet more shame for the state. What's worse, JU registrar Prabir Ghosh said he wasn't aware of the complaint although it was a full day after the girl submitted it in writing.
