Tarun Gogoi hits back and blames centre for shoot at sight

The border flare-up between Assam and Nagaland left at least three more persons dead in police firing on Wednesday even as chief minister Tarun Gogoi blamed the Centre of allowing the situation to spiral out of control.
Indefinite curfew was also clamped in the violence-hit border areas and Army called out to help police in restoring law and order.
The mob was protesting Tuesday's police action at Rangajan where people were allegedly dragged out of their homes and beaten up.
Earlier in the day, protestors, armed with bamboo sticks, attacked a police patrol on NH-37 at Moinapara in Golaghat injuring an assistant sub-inspector and two constables and set ablaze a police vehicle and three trucks, police said.
With the three deaths, the toll shot up to 14, which included 11 people killed by miscreants earlier.
Over 10,000 people are said to have fled their homes in the area, around 310 km east of capital Guwahati.
Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday blamed the Centre for the situation and alleged that the Narendra Modi government has taken a "casual approach" to handle the violence.
"In the disputed border, a central force has been deployed as a neutral force. It is the Centre's duty to handle the situation in the disputed areas," Gogoi said in Guwahati.
