Pakistan has violated ceasefire eleven times in past ten days. The latest one was a major provocative act which lasted throughout last night and entailed exchange of heavy mortar firing at 20 border outposts and civilian areas along the International Border in the Jammu sector.

Pakistan High Commissioner in India Abdul Basit has invited Kashmiri separatist leaders for "consultations", a word normally used by superiors for stock-taking with subordinates, a rather apt description in the Pakistan-Hurriyat Conference sub-text. The "consultations" are due for Monday evening and Tuesday.
