Subramanian Swamy to explain facts of the National Herald case
  • 5 years ago
In what is likely to be a crucial day for the Congress party, the Delhi High Court is scheduled to take up on Tuesday petitions filed by its national president Sonia Gandhi and her son and vice president Rahul in connection with the National Herald case.

The Congress party had pleaded the High Court for an early hearing in this case.

The Delhi High Court had on Friday issued notice to BJP leader and key petitioner in this case, Subramanian Swamy, to reply to the Congress leaders' petitions in this regard. Swamy had sought time to file a detailed report.

At the heart of the court case is Associated Journals Limited (AJL), publisher of three newspapers, including National Herald, an English daily founded and edited by Jawaharlal Nehru before he became independent India's first prime minister.
