TN government announces SIT probe into Chennai collapse

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has announced a Special Investigation Team for probing the 11-storey building collapse that killed more than 60 people in Chennai last week.
The team will include experts from IIT and Anna University who will assist the police.
Although the building that collapsed had proper approval, Ms Jayalalithaa had said, "It appears the building did not adhere to the approved plan and it suffered from structural defects".
