Modi to inaugurate new railway station and Hydel Power Plant

Prime Minister NarendraModi would arrive in J&K Friday to throw open Udhampur-Katra Railway Line in Jammu and inaugurate the 240-MW Uri-II Hydroelectric Project in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. The State Government has put in place unprecedented security arrangements for Modi's maiden visit to the State as Prime Minister even as team of elite Special Protection Group (SPG) have already flown from New Delhi in connection with the high-profile visit.

Modi would begin his visit from Jammu where he would be received by Governor NN Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Jammu airport. He would straight fly to Katra to inaugurate the 25-kilometer Udhampur-Katra rail link which is the part of the mega project to connect Kashmir with the entire rail network across India. Modi would be accompanied by Union Railway Minister DV SadanandaGowda and Minister in PMO, Jitendra Singh.
