Najma Heptulla : Congress wants Muslims to feel like victims

Minority Minister Najma Heptulla attacks Congress says- 'I will leberate Muslims from the politics of reservation. It is mere tokenism'.
In the wake of NCP president Sharad Pawar's ultimatum to chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, the state cabinet approved a populist proposal with an eye on the ensuing assembly elections to provide 16% reservation for backward Marathas and 5 per cent for Muslims in education and government jobs. As a result, the total reservation will be 73 per cent. In neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, reservation has crossed the mark of 83 per cent, while in Tamil Nadu, it is 69 per cent.
Chavan said the cabinet has given a green signal to provide for 16 per cent reservation for Marathas and five per cent reservation for Muslims.
