BMC likely to file contempt of court petition
  • 5 years ago
The Campa Cola society case is gradually turning towards its worst phase as complex's dwellers on Friday didn't allow the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials to enter their houses who had gone there to cut their electricity, water and gas supplies.

The residents locked their doors from inside and didn't even allow them to come inside to talk to them. However, the officials told the dwellers that they were there to execute Supreme Court's orders but even it wasn't enough to convince them for removal of most important necessaries of their daily lives.

The officials told that they didn't go there to perform the orders forcefully but it seems that the residents' move can be considered as contempt of court which apparently will lead them to an even worst mess. This is the second time when Campa Cola residents have done this.

BMC will very soon lodge a contempt of court petition against Campa Cola residents based on events in the Compound on Friday. The video shot by the officials will also be submitted in the court as evidence.
