MHA to seek 'resignations' of UPA Governors

The Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government has made up its mind to seek the replacement of Governors appointed by the previous regime by asking them to do the honourable thing and resign. As part of its exercise to make fresh gubernatorial appointments, the Prime Minister's Office has directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to furnish details regarding the tenures of the present Governors, eight of whom may be retiring before the year ends. Karnataka Governor Hansraj Bhardwaj will complete his term on 29 June.
