Senior Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal courted controversy when he sought to reject claims of an alleged rape victim that she was abducted, saying even a calf could not be forcibly taken.

"You cannot even forcibly drag a calf...," Agarwal told when asked to respond on the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh ruled by his party and the allegations of a woman that she was abducted and gang-raped.

He said he was not raising a question mark on the victim but only pointing out that it was difficult to abduct a person.
