Ram Kripal Yadav, a senior leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), decided to quit the party on Monday after being disappointed by not being given ticket from the Patliputra seat.

He had already resigned as general secretary of RJD on Saturday. The party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav named his daughter Misa Bharti as a contestant from Patliputra seat in the list announced on Thursday. Ram Kripal has claimed that Lalu was very well aware of his desire to contest from the seat in the coming election but gave the ticket to his daughter.

According to the sources disgruntled Ram Kripal will now move ahead to join the Bhartiya Janata Party.
