Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has apologised for the violence and street clashes between AAP and Bharatiya Janata Party workers in Delhi, Lucknow and many other places and appealed for calm. The detention of Kejriwal in Gujarat on Wednesday sparked off street clashes between AAP and BJP workers.

An FIR has also been filed in connection with the clashes in the Parliament Street police station in Delhi on charges of rioting, damaging public property and obstructing public servants. 33 people from both parties have been detained at the Parliament Street police station.
