The committee constituted by Supreme Court to determine the fees of private schools here has issued show cause notices to 400 private schools including 70 in Jaipur for hiking fees exorbitantly for 2014-15 sessions. The committee has termed the hike a serious violation of rules as it had restrained the schools from increasing the fees until the committee determine their fees.

The move came after schools have complained that delay in determining the fees will affect the functioning of schools. Running schools on a base year fees when the expenditure is rising north is unimaginable, said schools in a letter to fees committee, while requesting the committee to allow them to increase fees.
