India Debate: Is the Naval Chief solely responsible for the Sindhuratna tragedy?
In more bad news for the Navy, two of its sailors who had gone missing after the mishap involving INS Sindhuratna, have been declared dead. The Navy said the two officers - Lieutenant Commander Kapish Muwal from Delhi and Lieutenant Manoranjan Kumar from Jamshedpur - were trapped for over 24 hours in a compartment filled with toxic smoke and died of asphyxiation.

The Navy has constituted a probe panel to look into the cause of the incident and suggest corrective measures.

Jaswant Singh questioned Defence Minister AK Antony's credibility. "This is a serious matter. Has the matter been taken to the Cabinet Committee on Security? Our Commander-in-Chief is the President. Has he been informed about this by the Defence Minister?" he asked.
