Gujarat riots case: Supreme Court extends interim bail of Maya Kodnani till February 2014

The Supreme Court on Monday extended by one more week interim bail of former minister and a convict in Gujarat riots case Maya Kodnani. The court asked her produce a medical certificate of her burn injuries.
Kodnani has filed the petition challenging the February 8 order of the Gujarat High Court declining to extend her three-month temporary bail granted on medical grounds in November last. She had sought extension of bail by 180 days.
The trial court had in August 2012 awarded life imprisonment to Kodnani, Bajrang Dal leader Babu Bajrangi and 29 others for Naroda Patiya incident.
