Beaten to Death: Over 72 hours pass with no arrest, after Nido Tania was lynched by Mob

No arrests were made until Sunday in the alleged murder of 19-year-old Arunachali student, Nido Tania. Police reasoned that they were waiting for medical reports before taking further action and speaking to Nido's family to piece together the sequence of events; but all across the city, there were protests over the alleged racial hate crime.

BJP leaders Harsh Vardhan and Vijay Goel gathered at Rajghat in the morning with their supporters and demanded action against the culprits. "District-level helplines are needed for northeastern students. Authorities need to be sensitized to react quickly to complaints and take preventive steps to check harassment of people from the northeast, especially students," said Goel.
