NewsX: Why Narendra Modi wants Lata Mangeshkar to Sing 'Ae mere watan ke logon'?

BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will on Monday felicitate Lata Mangeshkar, on the completion of 51 years since the legendary singer sang the patriotic song "Ae Mere Vatan Ke Logon".
Lata Mangeshkar had rendered the song exactly 51 years ago on January 27, 1963.
The felicitation, as part of the Shreshtha Bharat Divas celebrations, will be held at Race Course, Mahalaxmi in Mumbai.
Many celebrities and national figures along with more than one lakh Indians are expected to sing the song today. However, Lata Mangeshkar will reportedly not sing the song either solo or in chorus.
