Utkal Express: Death toll reaches 24, rescue operations conclude

A total of 14 coaches of Puri-Haridwar-Kalinga Utkal Express derailed in Khatauli near Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday evening at around 5:45 pm. The train that was scheduled to reach Haridwar at 9:00 pm derailed midway in Muzaffarnagar's Khatauli. 11 trains have been affected due to deadly rail accident. 24 people lost their lives. A person admitted in Meerut Medical College also died. Accident happened because rail tracks were being repaired. Railway denies to this and said that other track was under repair.
