Vikas Barala, son of Haryana Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Subhash Barala and the prime accused in the Chandigarh stalking case was arrested by police on Wednesday, hours after he was summoned at Sector 26 police station for interrogation and further investigation.
Addressing a press conference, DGP Chandigarh said that after a detailed interrogation of the two accused, the police has decided to add two more charges including attempt to kidnap to the complaint.
"Attempt of abduction, two sections 365 and 511 has been added. Have decided to arrest both accused, will be produced before the court tomorrow," he said.
The DGP further said that both Vikas and Ashish will be produced to the court on Thursday. He also clarified that the police were under "no pressure" and the investigation is taking place in the most independent method possible.
