NewsX: Rajendra Kumar 1989 batch IAS officer, expected to be principal secretary to Arvind Kejriwal
  • 5 years ago
Before Arvind Kejriwal forms the government in the national capital, Rajendra Kumar is likely to become principal secretary to the new chief minister. Kumar, a 1989 batch IAS officer, is currently posted as Secretary Higher Education. He was earlier posted as Transport Secretary. However, in the wake of sharp criticism for its alleged failure to regulate public transport he was removed from his position as transport secretary. The Aam Aadmi Party or AAP is meeting to finalise its list of ministers and senior bureaucrats for Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal, who will be Delhi's youngest chief minister at 45, has reportedly requested that the oath-taking ceremony be held on Thursday at the capital's sprawling Ramlila Maidan. Most of AAP's 28 legislators in Delhi are first-time politicians with no experience of governance.
