Lucknow: 1 terrorist still holed up; suspected terrorist linked to IS

The firing that was underway in Lucknow’s Thakurganj area for now has ceased. As per current reports coming in, one of the terrorists has been shot dead. For now the gunfight has been halted. More terrorists are expected to be in hiding.
As per sources, the ATS, based on ‘concrete’ information from intelligence, had gone to apprehend Saifullah, who is also suspected of being involved in the train blast in Madhya Pradesh, from a house in Haji colony of Thakurganj area when he suddenly opened fire on the team.
The commandos lobbed some tear gas bombs inside the building where the suspected terrorists are holed up in order to force them to come out of hiding.
According to reports, the entire Thakurganj area has been cordoned off and the special commando team has also been called up by the UP police.
IG ATS Aseem Arun is supervising the anti-terror operation that is underway. The other police officials in charge of the search operation are ADG (Law & Order) Daljit Singh and UP DGP Javed Ahmed.
The UP Principal secretary has met DGP Javed for an update in the entire operation.
As per UP police sources, there is ongoing and continuous firing between the suspected terrorists and the patrolling team. The terrorists as of now are holed in a house in Thakurganj area of Haji colony.
