Jawab Toh Dena Hoga: Delhi woman throws her 2-year-old child off staircase

A woman hailing from Delhi's Pul Prahladpur area has been accused by her husband for throwing their 2-year-old child from the first floor of their house in a fit of rage. The incident which took place on 12 January was registered with the police on 24 January.

The complaint was filed by the child's father, Nitin Gupta, against her wife, Sonu Gupta, over an attempt to commit culpable homicide. The case has been registered under Section 308 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

As per CCTV footage accessed by the police, Sonu is seen sitting on her bed, fighting with her in-laws, while her child, Anshu, was sleeping. Later, Sonu gets hysterical and start throwing things around, she then picked up the child and threw him off the staircase of their flat.

The child was then rushed to All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Doctors examining the child said that the he suffered some blunt injuries on the face and head.
