Tonight with Deepak Chaurasia: Budget before Assembly elections a wrong move?

Opposition parties met with the Election Commission. Big row has erupted over timing of budget presentation. The Congress has attacked the centre over its plans to present the Union Budget on February 1st, three days prior to the start of voting in Assembly Elections in 5 states. The principal opposition party said the budget is traditionally presented on February 28 since Independence but the Narendra Modi government wants to present it during the time of Elections. Opposition will now petition the President.
