Rs 70 crore in new notes, 100 kg gold seized in Chennai raid

Income Tax sleuths on Thursday unearthed an amassed wealth of 100 kilograms of gold and Rs 90 crore in cash during a raid in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. What is more shocking is that out of Rs 90 crore seized, Rs 70 crore were in new currency notes. Reports said that the IT conducted raids at eight different locations in the city including in Anna Nagar and T Nagar. The department detained three businessmen and they were charged of running a money laundering racket.
