Income-tax Department seizes cash in excess of Rs 6 crore in raids in Karnataka and Goa

Income-tax Department of Karnataka and Goa have been conducting a search in the cases of two Karnataka government engineers and two contractors. In these searches, cash in excess of Rs 6 crores, bullion of 7 kg approximately and jewellery in excess of 7 kg were found. Out of the cash found, Rs 4.7 crores was in new currency of Rs 2000 notes. In addition, several property documents were also found, and seized. It was also noticed that these persons are in possession of high end luxury cars. Further probe is underway.
